OSMOTEC LB

The lightweight chimney OSMOTEC LB is the lightest one among our W3G certificate chimney systems. It can be connected to any heat source – even in the high standard temperature range of up to 400°C.

The OSMOTEC LB is the lightweight version of our W3G-classified chimney systems. The shaft parts and the interior pipes are all very light, i.e. the weight bearing on ceilings and foundations is very low and the installation is easily done.

Being an easy-to-install lightweight chimney, the OSMOTEC LB is therefore especially well suited for use in statically difficult situations (for example, with a wood-beamed ceiling).

The lightweight chimney

The OSMOTEC LB consists mainly of a light outer shell made of calcium silicate, an istostatically pressed ceramic pipe, and, if applicable, a mineral fibre insulation. With its low weight, its compact construction, and its easy installation, this lightweight chimney is a very good solution for renovations and refurbishments as well as new builds.

The OSMOTEC LB is either a two-layer or a three-layer chimney system:

• Two-layer: suitable for gas and oil fireplaces
• Three-layer: suitable for gas and oil fireplaces as well as solid-fuel fireplaces like tiled, chimney, or pellet stoves.

W3G-classified quality

OSMOTEC LB is a W3G-classified chimney system. The name “W3G” refers to the fact that the flue system has been tested and that it guarantees a sealed pipe column even in the case of a soot fire or condensate accumulation.

Especially condensing solid biomass fuels such as pellets, wood chips, or grains require chimney systems with a W3G certificate. Thanks to the isostatically pressed fireclay pipes, our OSMOTEC chimney systems are moisture-resistant (even after a soot fire) as well as resistant to temperature fluctuations and corrosion and therefore suitable for all fuel types.
